Eagle Kiosk (really for ducks)

The troop's second Eagle Project in as many days certainly left a stain on things. Jeffery led a crew in staining the wood he will use to build a kiosk at the Opelika Wood Duck Heritage Preserve. After pre-drilling the holes and assembling the main part of the frame for the kiosk, several members of the troop, along with Jeffery's mother and father, stained the wood a rich, brown color. The next step will be digging the holes for the legs and setting them in concrete at the parking lot of the Preserve. In conjunction with the Friends of the Opelika Wood Duck Preserve, Jeffery has also developed the materials for posting in the kiosk that will provide information and education for visitors and bird-watchers at the Preserve. More photos are available in the online photo album.
With Jeffery and Jake working towards a strong finish to their projects, along with a work in progress from Daniel, it looks like a three way race to see who will be the first Eagle Scout from Troop 50.
